Passed through Tengeboche Monastery on the way down and had a very short audience with the Rimpoche. He is believed to be the 14th re-incarnate of that position and is widely revered by all.

Everest peeks above the Lhotse-Nuptse wall
while Ama Dablam soars skyward. Our upper
trekking trail is barely visible, high on the left.
Our food was prepared by the trek "chef" with help from
the kitchen boys. These Porters carry their own food
and prepare it on fires built when they stop for food ...
typically "dahlbot" (rice and lentils) twice a day. Ours
was lot's of carbs with very little meat, although they did
manage apple pie and popcorn!
Prayer flags everywhere ... or, prayer wheels and
incense. All designed to carry prayers to heaven
"Om mani padmi hung"
The ever-present mani stones are
a constant feature on the trail.
It's the end of the trek and we deserve these beers!
If the yaks don't fall through ... we should be all right!
Went to the old city of Bahktaphur just outside
Kathmandu. Trading and selling goods in the city
square is the same process as 300 years ago.
In Kathmandu, tourists are immediately surrounded by vendors
anxiously trying to sell you something. They have perfected the
art of bargaining and are aggressive, with a BIG smile.
Broom maker.
These aren't
for tourists
and are used
everywhere

Goodbye Hong Kong - what a trip!
And, who wouldn't love a ride on the Star Ferry in Hong Kong.
